Community

St. Andrew’s congregation is diverse and gathers from all parts of the Greater Sudbury area. We are young and old, of varying ideas and different opinions and we are bound together in our faith and commitment to be the church of Jesus Christ in our community and beyond.

We worship together as a community of faith on Sunday at 10:30 am in the building of St. Andrew’s Place on Larch Street in Sudbury. There is a warm invitation and welcome to everyone.

St Andrew’s is also part of the downtown community, and we want to build community not only in our own church family, but with those in our building and beyond.

Our building is close to other churches as well as Memorial Park, the Sudbury YWCA, Civic Square and numerous businesses.  We are at the crossroads of the downtown community.

We are seeking partnerships with other churches and agencies who would like to work with us to make the church a presence in our neighbourhood and part of the downtown activities.

We continue to welcome the Speak Up Sudbury! presentations that have been made in our sanctuary as the team has unrolled its plan for revitalizing the downtown.  We want to find ways to be part of that plan of renewal.

The church reaches out to the residents who live in St Andrew’s Place with an invitation to share in the life of our faith community.

The Out of the Cold program is supported by volunteers from across the community of Greater Sudbury.  They set aside each Friday night from the end of October to mid-April
to serve a hot meal to many folks who live in the downtown.  Funding for this program comes from the Out of the Cold concert series organized by our community partner, Bob Bale. He has found sponsors in the community: Dairy Queen and others.  Their commitment to this program extends the outreach ministry of St Andrew’s Church into the downtown community.
